Abstract

This paper focuses on the development of a feedback linearization control for a variable speed fixed pitch wind turbine driving a permanent magnet synchronous generator. The power system is considered to operate on an insular grid. The feedback linearization controller aims to maximize the energy captured from the wind, for varying wind speeds. Numerical simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the feedback linearization controller.
