Abstract

The description of foreigners is a practice which is constantly visible throughout what we call nowadays the classical antiquity. Greek and Roman writers depict in their works other peoples both in negative terms, but also in an idealized manner at times. However, the other nations always present and consider themselves to be the bearers of civilization.
