Abstract

The Dinasty's role in the political, economical and social development of Romania can neither be disputed nor undermined. The Dynasty was very important for Romania from the establishment of the country in 1866 up to 1947. During this period, the country experienced political stability and came to be known as one of the most respected European states, at least in Eastern Europe. This study intends to bring to light the patrimonial documents contained by the Special Collections Section of the Galati Library that are in reference to the Royal Family. The historical importance of these documents is significant as they help us recreate an era, as well as follow the daily events in the lives of the members of the Romanian royal family. Almost all of the documents on record are original and many of them are one-of-a kind pieces.
