Some Considerations on Establishment Mihail Kogălniceanu's Cloth Factory from Târgu Neamț

Abstract

This paper aims to detail Mihail Kogălniceanu's attempts to establish a cloth factory in Târgu Neamț, Moldavia. This is regarded as part of Kogălniceanu's efforts to establish a national industry. He received the support of Prince Grigore V Ghica, but the whole project was canceled due to the Crimean War. Unpublished documents from the collections of the National Archives of Iași were used to document this paper.
