Abstract

The canonical territory of The “Lower Danube” Archdiocese shelters churches with a priceless sacred heritage. These holy places, in many of the cases come from the first half of the XIX-th century, during which the effigy image of Bishop Melchisedek Stefanescu shone, the founder of the Diocese of Lower Danube, in its modern stage. This study highlights some original documents related to the churches in Braila area of our Diocese, from villages: Radu Voda, Cioara-Doiceşti, Deduleşti and “St. Apostles” from Braila.
