Abstract

Water is the most trivial substance in nature, but lately it raises interest of scientists due to its unusual properties. The findings showed that the water suffers, not only a chimical one, but also a physical pollution of the environment, which has created greater controversy among the scientists to analyze water quality only chemically. Sometimes prejudices urged colleagues to distrust the results, but the Orthodox Church brings arguments in which water has an important role in spiritual purification.
The prayer changes water properties, and in the water God shows His sanctifying power, after St. Cyril of Jerusalem testimony: “Don’t look that baptism water is ordinary water, but look at the spiritual grace given along with the water”.
