Abstract

Antiquity captures this issue of death and retains the questions they had, philosophers, sages, poets and any mortal. The moment of death is the subject of many creations and writings, works, sculptures, individual or collective paintings, emblematic monuments and buildings, motive and justification of many wars and fierce battles that reflected the supreme instinct of man – survival. And the Greeks and the Latins, the Persians and the Babylonians, the Jews and the Geto-Dacians sang and wept, both this dramatic moment of death. But no one has done it and will not do it as Christians understand and look at it, as when for this belief and this joy I go to the supreme sacrifice. That is, they defy death for the sake of eternal life to which they are called by their God.
