Abstract

Usually, the problems of orders acceptance, production process planning & scheduling, and management of the resources involved in the manufacturing process are separately solved. If the manufacturing process is performed on a reconfigurable manufacturing system (RMS), then these problems have a specific character. The paper presents a newly developed virtual tool, helpful for concomitantly solving the above-mentioned problems, which simulates product manufacturing on RMS, namely the virtual workshop. It is based on modeling the process with a new type of Petri networks, three-dimensional and it has a modular structure. The assembly of a virtual workshop addressing to the case of manufacturing a tubular shaft is
included
