Abstract

This paper is a brief review of the recent literature regarding the applications of machine vision in autonomous vehicles. We emphasize the main achievements as well as some challenges and limitations of these technologies, and also propose a simple taxonomy of the research directions in this field. The main contribution of this work is to provide a quick introduction and a bird's eye view of the extremely vast literature on this topic, and to identify some useful resources for starters.
