Abstract

The phenomenon of the sacrifice has been subjected to  theoretical research mostly in the past century. This paper outlines a history of the problem, discerning three different perspectives from which the sacrifice has been theoretically approached: the literary-poetical perspective, illustrated by ‘The College of Sociology’ in France, the theological-philosophical perspective and the scientific perspective (represented by  the psychology of religion, the history of religions,  the linguistics etc.)
