Recunoașterea facială.
Între portretistica contemporană și neuroștiință
Abstract
This article aims to highlight the role of facial expressions in contemporary
art. Facial expression primarily conveys an emotion, a message, it is a form
of non-verbal communication. Throughout this text, we will understand the
involvement of neuroscience in the process of understanding facial
recognition, the close relationship between psychology and art, psychology
and portraiture, as well as the relationship between expression, portraiture
and the digital world. Laura Swanson will propose at the end some examples
of anti-self-portraiture that emphasize the public’s reaction to a hidden face,
or the suggestion of a face that cannot be distinguished or understood.
