Abstract

Like his novels where the characters precipitate to fall into purely imaginary
scenarios often aimed at developing an obsession, in dramatic works there is in nucce a
preference for irreconcilable soul predisposition of the central characters with a
fragmented will which amplify speech and conflict situations. Behavioral problems have
provided the basis for constructing the characters in the plays of Gib Mihăescu. They are
not able to overcome their obsessions, but tempted to widen, to feed them through
thoughtful introspection compulsions. Anxiety and depression of the characters that are
abandoned themselves to compulsion benchmarks for deviation from the norm, will be
sanctioned with lucidity by their creator. Obsession with freedom and inner freedom
deficit requires that symptom and as a way of behavior. The obsessive is also the
psychological defense mechanism of the characters that is hidden behind the masks and
ensures internal consistency. We find that weakness symptom as a metaphor hides an
external event: frustration, rejection, insult, humiliation immediate consequences
translated into tensions, anxiety, and anger. In their critical point, obsessions appear as
a repetition of history, which gives a circular shape to the analyzed works.
