Optzecismul și „profețiile” tehnologizării

Abstract

The eighty-time poetry is an interesting case in the Romanian literature landscape, once in its historical context in which it has been born and has inherently left its imprint, but, especially by its open attitude toward new, innovation, an attitude that still gives it an air of freshness and topical importance. More than forty years after its appearance, the eighty-time poetry is paradoxically a poetry of the man of the 21st century. Even completely ignoring the political backgroundside, it captures in a nuanced way the relationship between man and the surrounding realities, even technological innovations. Seen from this point of view, we could say that eighty-time poetry is a new wave of avant-gardism, but without its extremist attitude. Todayʼs man can found himself in Cartarescuʼs poem, which, in a ludicrous spirit, embraces technology, innovation, creating a mixture of old and new, thus intuing the eternal position of the human being between the past and the future. Cartarescu “rejoices” like a child of all that represents technological evolution, being “forever young, wrapped in pixels”. We can simply see Cartarescu`s poetry in this way, or we can see it as a subtle warning to the human being to be attentive to the limits of technological interference in her life. Any evolution is positive as long as it does not exceed a limit, as long as it does not mutilate spirituality and does not attempt to integrity of self. With a much more radical attitude, Magda Carneci offers a ”feminine” perspective on the issue. Her poetry unveiled a crisis of self, once expelled from social life on political grounds, and the second time because of an artificial environment that is not friendly to the human being.
