Abstract

Liviu Iancu is not a writer in the sense given by the critics, he is first and foremost, a journalist. His autobiographical book, Xanax, was the best-selling book of 2019, according to statistics presented by the publishing house. It is a kind of initiation novel that aims to become the protagonist in a troubled society: stories of a childhood and adolescence spent in a (pseudo) urban place are naturally followed by stories from Bucharest, where he came to study and find a job as a reporter. Xanax is the book in which we discover the most intense confrontation between a cynical field reporter and a passionate writer. Liviu Iancu is one of the few writers who told his life without beautifying or dramatizing it, still managing to make us understand that it represents the most precious gift of God.
