Abstract

The present article aims to discuss and analyze some 19th century writings in our libraries, with the aim of informing the reading public about their existence and valuing them, taking into account the social component of reading, but and the literary value it holds. Reading texts shapes the consciousness of the population consuming a corpus of texts, contributes to the evolution of prejudices, opinions, mentalities that will later form the basis of the formation of literary critical consciousness. The ”consumption” of these writings, ” unapproved” by literary criticism, develops the fascination for reading, opening the taste for the ” scholarly” reading that will follow.
