Abstract

The text presents the literary evolution of Daniel Sandu Tudor, a poet with contradictory aesthetic options. He cultivated the ideologies of his time, he experimented with the literary trends in vogue (traditionalism, modernism), only to denounce them vehemently later. His criticism of his models takes sometimes the shape of fraude. He manages to overcome all the ideological challenges and to transgress the interior canon. Finally, he will settle in the area of Christian poetry, being considered today the most important Romanian hymnologist and mystic writer. In his religious hymns, the poet explores an area of almost unknown concerns in the Romanian literature of the time.
