SOME PERSPECTIVES ON THE ROMANIAN DETECTIVE NOVEL
Abstract
Deeply imperfect, like any object of human creation, classifications, 
standards, limitations and reports have been sought for literature since ancient 
times, in an approach intended - according to an aesthetic principle developed by a 
specialized elite -, to demarcate value from non-value. One of the most popular 
genres - in contemporaneity -, with a considerable number of sympathizers, 
detective writing has not always enjoyed critical approval. The 19th century 
introduction of the detective novel as an independent genre is received with 
suspicion, especially by literary "high society". On the other hand, the public receives 
it with a frenzy, the stories of crimes, clues, villains and mysteries being captivating 
for the readers.
