FRANCO-ROMANIAN SOCIOLINGUISTIC INTERFERENCES.
LEXICAL BORROWING IN THE SPEECH OF THE ROMANIAN COMMUNITY FROM FRANCE
Abstract
The Romanian spoken in the Romanian community in France presents
phonetic, graphic, morphological and syntactic particularities. The phenomenon of
interference representative from the quantitative point of view is that of borrowing,
adapted and non-adapted, which can be explained by the fact that, emigrants have
borrowed the terms corresponding to the French language, faced with new realities
and under the pressure of integration, sometimes out of necessity, others out of
linguistic inertia or economy of language. Very often, these words are accompanied
by their Romanian equivalent when used in a conversation with a person who does
not belong to the same community or by the expression „cum zic franceziiˮ, which
proves the awareness of their use. Present more often in the speech of the first
generation, at all levels of education, the word borrowing covers, in general, the
domains of professional, daily life and education.
