“THE NOVELTY OF THE FAMILIAR” OR THE SOLSTITIAL MYTH AS A PRAGMATIC SPACE OF INTERTEXTUAL DIALOGUE
Abstract
If for linguists, language and its use constitute an abstract construction of
mental spaces produced by the speaker and the interlocutor, in the context of
Romanian literature, the title Noaptea de S‚nziene requires an analysis of how a space parent assimilates a space-child, thanks to a language trigger, even if these represent
the title of a novel by Mircea Eliade or Mihail Sadoveanu. The construction of
pragmatic spaces is closely linked to language, with certain linguistic structures
designating existing spaces, such as the expression Noaptea de S‚nziene. In pragmatic
terms, these structures are called space introducers and they awaken in the reader the
pleasure of recognition, called the novelty of the familiar.
