Abstract

The prototype of a versatile artist, Virgil Tănase is passing with an enviable dexterity from one language to another, from one culture to another, from one country to another, from one history to another, from a literary current to another, from one literary genre to another. In fact, during his exile writing, Virgil Tănase, often resorting to the qualities and skills of a stage director, happily combined the epic with the dramatic. The novelty of his theater consists in that interference of the modern with the classic, both combined with perspicacity and without disturbing the structure of the dramatic text. Thus, the French literary world would be surprised by the mastery of the Romanian art theater.
