MODALITĂȚI DE ORGANIZARE LEXICALĂ. STUDIU DE CAZ:
RELAȚIILE FORMALE ȘI SEMANTICE
Abstract
This paper presents a comparative approach to the traditionallycalled semantic relations, i.e., synonymy, antonymy, homonymy and paronymy, by classifying them according to both synchronic and diachronic criteria and emphasizing the similarities and the differences between the four types of semantic relations. The main focus of the paper is the role of these relations, especially synonymy and antonymy, in lexical organization. For instance, semantic ambiguity is often resolved by means of partial internal homonymy (i.e. homonymy arising from the semantic specialization of word variants) and etymological paronymy, (i.e. paronymy arising from the semantic specialization of various types of word variants).
