PLURILINGUISME ET POLITIQUES LINGUISTIQUES: PROBLÈMES ET SOLUTIONS
Abstract
This paper is about the linguistic policy in the Republic of Moldova. The author adopts the
social approach in defining language. A language is strongly related to identity, it is a real vehicle of culture, and also of ideology. The linguistic, historical and national identity of the Republic of Moldova is a direct consequence of the soviet occupation, at that period of time when Russian could bring ideology, coercion and destruction of national/Romanian identity. The linguistic policy must be elaborated, promoted and implemented by linguists. The constitutionalization of the Declaration of Independence in RM in 2013, which has been initiated by the author, brings full rights to the Romanian language as an official language of RM.
