Abstract

Various exegets of Emil Cioran’s work present his nihilism both as an attitude, and as a conception derived, in great part, from the contact with the creations of Dostoievski and Nietzsce. Cioran himself admits that he sees and recognizes both as “great teachers of the theorization of the revolt and unhappiness” ant that he includes them among those responsible for his writing destiny. This paper surveys Cioran’s nihilism especially in connection with his early writings concerning Romania’s destiny.
