Abstract

In this paper, the author analyses the interrelation between globalisation and migration and stresses the diverse social and demographic implications of the latter band on the example of Romania. Among the demographic implications, the author mentions: the fluctuations which appear in the total volume of the population, the direction of the natural increase, the changes in the age structure of the population, etc.
A special attention is given to the rural migration as a form of the present internal territorial migration and to the reasons which determine this phenomenon.
