Abstract

The following few pages seek to create the context for a discussion about one of the outstanding figures of Romanian literature, a writer who in the age of digitalization managed to capture not only the attention of literary criticism, but also of the average reader: Ana Blandiana. The purpose of this pursuit is to emphasize the role of the writer in the age of digitalization, appealing to critical references from the likes of Nicolae Manolescu, Eugen Simion, Mircea Gociman, or Adalbert Gyuris, among others. Ana Blandiana, an active presence in the world of literature and in the civic space alike, helps the contemporary young reader to become an active and curious entity. How does she do that? Above anything else, the fact that Blandiana does not seek to crudely amaze the reader with her vision – but only confesses, dissolving the mystery, in an emblematic manner – demonstrates how the Romanian author is able to penetrate a market with extraordinary force.
