The NEOLOGICAL LOAN BURSĂ FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF FUNCTIONAL LANGUAGES
Abstract
The distinction "common lexicon", "specialized lexicon", regarded from the perspective of functional languages or of the functional uses of the language (E. Coseriu), is also required in lexicology, since the knowledge and indication of the status of some words (we refer here in particular to neologisms) is complicated by the difficulty of establishing their etymology. As part of our approach, the above mentioned distinction is illustrated by the analysis of the neologism bursă [a] or of the Romanian neologisms bursă1 and bursă2. By accepting the sense [b], bursă1 also has a very interesting distribution regarding its use with different meanings, from a dual perspective: that of the vocabulary composition as a potential general inventory and that of the analysis of the respective word from the perspective of the existence of different functional languages, a general situation significantly reflected by
dictionaries of different levels.
