RETROSPECTIVE VIEWS ON BILINGUAL DICTIONARIES IN THE ROMANIAN LEXICOGRAPHY

Abstract

During the last decades, lexicography has undergone a remarkable evolution, determined by social development, globalization and the expansion of philological research areas. All of these are determined by the development of the social relations, cultural interference and digital technologies. In this context, the dictionary is not only a working tool, but also a cultural object, reflecting a civilization, mentalities and the socio-cultural conditions in which it was created. Our paper aims to provide an overview of the most important Romanian bilingual lexicographical works.
